Leighlynn was identified with a hearing loss at birth. Our Children's Hearing Help Fund Loan Bank provided hearing aids for her at 10 weeks old. Once her hearing loss had stabilized she was deaf in the right ear and had a moderate to severe loss in the left ear.
Leighlynn now has her own hearing aid and is enrolled in speech therapy. Her parents tell us that at 20 months old she has a vocabulary of 50 words. She points to her ear saying "please"and will lay her head down so that her hearing aid can be put in.
